CPL 2026, 4th match: Jamaica Kingsmen to face Barbados Tridents in high-voltage clash
Barbados Tridents are set to kick off their Caribbean Premier League 2026 campaign against Jamaica Kingsmen in the fourth match of the tournament on Wednesday at Sabina Park.
The new season brings fresh opportunities for the Barbados side, who are looking to put a disappointing CPL 2025 campaign behind them. Last season, they managed just two wins and finished at the bottom of the points table. Notably, the franchise has returned to its original identity as Barbados Tridents β the name under which it competed in the first eight seasons of the CPL. The team was rebranded as Barbados Royals in 2021 but has now reverted to Tridents as part of a βOne Barbadosβ initiative.
Meanwhile, Jamaica Kingsmen began their campaign on a disappointing note, suffering a narrow two-wicket defeat in the tournament opener. The side will be eager to bounce back and make a strong statement in front of their home crowd at Sabina Park.
